Florence Wu was awarded her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Newcastle (UoN), Australia in 2010. She is currently a violin and piano tutor, as well as an accompaniment in Hong Kong. She plays various kind of Western and Chinese musical instruments, such as piano, violin, flute, vocal, harp, zheng zither, erhu, guqin zither, and​ obtained her Grade 8 piano, violin and zheng zither.

胡老師於2010年獲得澳洲紐卡素大學音樂學士學位，回港後擔任樂器導師及伴奏。她能演奏多種中西樂樂器，包括鋼琴、小提琴、長笛、聲樂、竪琴、古箏、二胡、古琴。

Her first appearance on stage was in 1990s, when she performed zheng zither in the Chinese University of Hong Kong at the age of 7. Her talent has even impressed the headmaster of her primary school, who invited her to become an active zheng zither soloist for local performances, and encouraged her to participate in various music competitions.

九十年代初，當時只有7歲的胡老師已在香港中文大學作首次的古箏公開演出。後來更受到小學校長賞識，不但每年獲邀在校內表演，並鼓勵其積極參與校外比賽。

At the age of 15, she became the concertmaster of the Chinese Orchestra of her secondary school, and was responsible for the Orchestra’s transcriptions. In 2003, she began to learn violin and passed the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations - Grade 5 with distinction, and Grade 7 with merit- within two years.

15歲那年，胡老師已擔任校內中樂團首席，同時負責樂譜翻譯的工作。2003年開始學習小提琴，並於兩年內成功考取英國皇家音樂學院 (ABRSM) 五級和七級術科考試。

 

During her study in UoN, she was trained as a professional performer under the supervision of Mr. Colin Spiers and Ms. Leigh Carter. In 2008, she became a member of the UoN Orchestra and UoN Chamber Choir - The Champion of “Battle of the Choirs, Australia”, and has participated in numerous performances in Newcastle and Sydney, Australia.

2008年留學澳洲，她跟隨 Colin Spiers 先生和 Leigh Carter 女士接受專業演奏訓練。同年，她成為大學管弦樂團小提琴手和合唱團 (曾獲得 Battle of the Choirs, Australia 冠軍) 女中音，及後多次在當地作公開演出。

 

Florence is engaged as a professional music teacher at local schools and studios for almost a decade. Her students got great results in the ABRSM examinations and Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association (HKSMSA) competitions every year. In 2018, Florence and her student were awarded "Outstanding Teacher Award" and "1st Runner-up" of String VI Class in Little Musical Philanthropists Competition (LMPC). Now, she found her own career “FLORENCE WU Violin & Piano” for educating and help you to enrich yours’ or your child’s life with music.

胡老師在香港多間中、小學及琴行從事音樂教育工作已有十年，其下學生於每年英國皇家音樂學院 (ABRSM) 術科考試和香港校際音樂節 (HKSMSA) 比賽中均獲得優異成積，更於2018年首次帶領學生參加第八屆小小慈善音樂家比賽 (LMPC) 並分別取得「傑出教師獎」和「小提琴VI組別亞軍」。她致力向「FLORENCE WU Violin & Piano」的學生提供良好的音樂教育課程，從而培養個人音樂素養，擁有更豐富的人生。
